Nikki & Dave's Big Island (Hawaii) Wedding

In late July, our friends Nikki and Dave got married in Hakalau on Hawaii's beautiful Big Island. Chandler and I travelled for a week before the wedding festivities begun. There was so much to see (dormant and active volcanoes, waterfalls, lava and black sand beaches). The week was amazing in so many ways...

Here are some photos I took at Nikki & Dave's wedding:

Nikki handmade her dress from pieces of sari fabric. The leis worn by the bridal party and the couple were also handmade by friends and family.

LA Surfers

I spent a week with my beau in LA in late June. Chandler was there for work (The Skisherman won best documentary at a local festival) and I went out to support him.

While I was there I shot a few rolls, and met some female surfers who intrigued me. I did their portraits and then developed a roll at Richard Photo Lab. I brought the rest home to Mary Converse, my printer at my favorite lab in Chelsea to complete the rest.

It was an interested test and I like the results of both.

I look forward to continuing the shoot upon my return.

Marissa Mayer and Zack Bogue's Wedding

Happy Holidays to All!

I wanted to share that I was asked to photograph Google VP, Marissa Mayer & Zachary Bogue's gorgeous winter wedding last weekend in San Francisco. What a huge honor for me. It was a beautiful wedding, and an amazing experience for me to shoot it.

Unfortunately, my photos of their Engagement & the Wedding cannot be shared at the moment, except for this one.

As mentioned in the article, here were Marissa and Zack's vendors:

Marissa Mayer's gowns: Naeem Khan designed both Friday and Saturday night's gowns. (Naeem Khan was made famous by Michelle Obama wearing one of his beautiful gowns on Nov 24th, when the President and she met with India's Prime Minister at the White House.)

Friday night venue: Bimbo's 365, San Francisco.

Saturday night venue: Four Seasons Hotel, San Francisco

Event Design: Both venues (Bimbo's 365 and Four Seasons) were splendidly styled by Robert Fountain

Cake design: Ron Ben-Israel It was my pleasure to have worked with the super-talented cake designer in California on this wedding. Funny enough, we had been email buddies for a while, and both came from NYC, but only formally met there in SF!
